What Makes a Slowed and Reverb Edit Work
The slowed and reverb style became popular because it turns a familiar track into something calmer and more atmospheric. Two simple changes do most of the work: a slower tempo and a large, soft reverb.
Speed and pitch together
Slowing a recording down also lowers its pitch, the way a record sounds when it spins too slowly. That deeper tone is part of the style. If you want the slower tempo without the deeper voice, raise the pitch back up with the separate pitch control.
Reverb adds space
Reverb simulates sound bouncing around a room. A little feels natural; a lot feels like a hall or a dream. Combined with a slower tempo, it fills the gaps between notes.
The opposite: sped up and nightcore
Raising the speed gives songs energy for short clips. Nightcore pushes it further with a bright, high voice. Cut your favourite section first with the MP3 Cutter, then use the finished edit as background music in a clip made with the Vertical Video Converter.
