What HEIC Is and When to Convert It
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) stores photos at roughly half the size of JPG with similar quality. That is great for phone storage, but compatibility outside Apple devices is still patchy. A HEIC converter bridges the gap.
When you will notice the problem
- Photos copied from an iPhone to a PC will not open.
- A website rejects your upload.
- A colleague on Android cannot view the pictures you sent.
After converting
Photos may still contain your location. Remove it with the EXIF & GPS Remover before posting publicly. To shrink them further, use the Image Format Converter; to fit a post size, the Social Image Resizer.
