Making GIFs That Load Fast and Look Good
GIFs are everywhere in chats, documentation and slide decks because they play automatically and loop forever. The challenge is keeping them small. A smart GIF maker gives you the three levers that matter: length, width and frame rate.
Keep it short
Two to five seconds is the sweet spot. Every extra second adds dozens of frames.
Lower the width
Most GIFs are viewed small. 320 to 480 pixels wide is enough for chats; 640 for documentation.
Fewer frames per second
10 to 15 frames per second still looks smooth for most motion and cuts the size dramatically.
For longer clips, MP4 is the better choice. Shrink it further with the Video Size Reducer, or grab a single still with the Video Frame Extractor.
